About Happy Tails Dog Training Center

In-home training in Rapid City

Happy Tails Dog Training Center is a Rapid City training business focused on personalized in-home dog training and behavior modification. Its mission describes modern, science-based training built on understanding, trust and positive relationships, without force or coercion. The team uses positive reinforcement, often with a clicker and food rewards, and aims to teach the dog rather than correct it for something it hasn't learned yet.

Two training paths

Training and life skills covers new puppies (potty and crate training, puppy biting, socialization, leash manners and basic obedience), adolescent dogs (jumping, leash pulling, poor recall, barking and counter surfing) and basic manners for adult dogs, including loose-leash walking, coming when called and impulse control. Behavior modification addresses reactivity, aggression, fear and anxiety with individualized plans, careful management and practical coaching. Happy Tails also lists swim and dock diving lessons and help for those wanting to compete in agility or conformation.
