About Helping Pets Behave

What they offer

Helping Pets Behave is run by Mary Huntsberry, an Associate Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist based in Montgomery County who works with dogs and cats. Behavior consults look into the history of a problem, explain the pet's behavior and include hands-on practice so owners can continue at home; virtual consults by video are available for people who live farther away or prefer to stay home.

Training

One-on-one training sessions cover new puppies, working toward a Canine Good Citizen title and getting a dog or cat comfortable with grooming, and the business also runs training classes.

Approach

The approach is science-based: identify the triggers and consequences behind a behavior, then teach humane, positive techniques. Mary is also Elite Fear Free certified.
