About Howl-N-Bark Training LLC
Who runs Howl-N-Bark
Howl-N-Bark Training LLC is at 1186 Old North Main St in Oneida and is run by Chris Hollenbeck. She writes that she began her career as a shelter caretaker, became a veterinary assistant and then completed her training at Cedar Valley College to qualify as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in August 2001. She later qualified as an Animal Behavior College Dog Trainer, and states that as of October 2025 she is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed. That CPDT certification was matched against the New York CCPDT registry pull for this build and is confirmed.
Method
The stated mission is "to help clients work on behavior, obedience, and keeping the human-animal bond strong". The method is force-free: "I use the scientifically proven methods of force-free training. I use treats, toys and games that promote learning. I encourage the use of harnesses and soft wide collars and as a supporting member of IAABC, I adhere to LIMA – Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive approach to behavior modification and training." The site quotes Lisa Mullinax on its front page – "Giving a dog control to make choices doesn't mean we let them make bad choices. It means we structure our training in ways that take their needs into account."
Memberships as published
The site lists membership of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, Fear Free certification, evaluator status for the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen program and for C.L.A.S.S., Puppy Start Right trainer, Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner, and supporting membership of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. Apart from the confirmed CPDT, these are the trainer's own claims.
Continuing work
She writes that she aspires to become a dog behaviorist, keeps up through seminars, workshops and continuing education, and volunteers as a veterinary technician at a local animal shelter, where since qualifying she now also trains shelter dogs to prepare them for adoption. Booking runs through a PocketSuite link published on the contact page.
