About Instinct Dog Behavior & Training

Instinct Dog Behavior & Training has an East Harlem location on East 111th Street with its own address and its own phone line; the company says each Instinct location is locally owned and operated.

What is on offer

The published services are private coaching with a trainer or behavior consultant, Camp + Coaching (their board-and-train, deliberately paired with private sessions afterwards so the change transfers home), Puppy Camp + Coaching, Home School + Coaching, group learning, and daycare and boarding framed around behavioral health rather than play alone. There is also a 24/7 AI support tool with human oversight for owners between sessions.

Areas of expertise

The site lists behavior therapy, life skills and manners, puppy development, adolescent behavior support, senior dog behavior support, dog and child safety, and collaboration with veterinary behaviorists. Dogs of any breed, age and behavior challenge are welcomed explicitly, with fear, anxiety, reactivity and aggression named.

Method

The house framework is called Nature-Driven Nurture and is described as working with a dog's personality, instincts and innate drives instead of against them. The company publishes case studies, runs free live training seminars and an online school, and hosts a behavior podcast.
