About Inudo Dog Training, LLC
The Way of the Dog in Austin
Inudo Dog Training offers virtual and in-home private lessons to dog owners in the Austin area. Trainer Candace Nolte spent 13 years serving the State of Texas in roles with the Texas Legislature and the Texas Department of Public Safety before turning to dog training. She graduated from the National K9 School for Dog Trainers, earning the title of Certified Professional Trainer, with coursework spanning obedience, behavior modification, puppy development, tracking, scent detection, protection and utility. She lives on an 11-acre farm in Elgin.
Philosophy
The name Inudo means "Way of the Dog" in Japanese, and Candace draws on her practice of Iaido and tea ceremony, bringing principles of service, humility, simplicity and present-moment awareness to training. Her approach centers on meeting a dog's instinctual and biological needs in constructive ways, with dogs given freedom as long as they make good decisions. She adapts methods to each dog and owner.
Lessons
Lessons cover puppy preschool for puppies up to 16 weeks, on-leash basic obedience, off-leash advanced obedience, relationship building, behavior modification, trick training, non-competition agility and nosework, and AKC Canine Good Citizen training and testing. Payment is by card through Freshbooks, Venmo, cash or check, and cancellations need 48 hours' notice.
