About K9 Logics

K9 Logics is a training and boarding operation on 32 acres in Marrowbone Valley, outside Nashville at Ashland City, owned and run by Nathan Bass and Bridget Corrigan since 2008. Five of the acres are fenced with multiple play yards, and there are woodland and creekside trails. The owners live on the premises.

What you can book here, with prices

Stay & Train is a 30-day boarding program starting at $3,000, covering manners and basic commands – sit and down stay, loose leash walking, come when called and place – and includes a go-home lesson and a training collar. At the time of reading the site stated it was booked out several months ahead, which tells you something about demand and about planning lead time. Private lessons are $120 per hour, run about an hour, and are on-site at K9 Logics rather than in your home. Lodging is $50 a day, or $55 for senior and special-medical-needs dogs, in indoor climate-controlled runs with two feedings and multiple handler-accompanied potty breaks.

The add-ons

Boarding extras are itemised and cheap: day camp $10/day, a woodland and creekside nature walk $10, a 10-minute toss and fetch session $10, refresher training $25/day (available only to dogs who have completed the basic obedience program), go-home bath from $30, nail file from $30, medication administration $2-$5. Transport to and from boarding is available from $20 per trip, with stated exclusions – not on holidays or weekends, not in Cheatham county, and limited van capacity.

Who trains

The site says Nathan and Bridget graduated from The Tom Rose School for professional dog trainers in 2005/2006, and that all of their trainers are graduates of the same school. It claims the team has worked with over 1,000 dogs.

Conditions to know

Two are stated outright. Dogs showing aggression towards people or dogs will not be accepted for boarding-only services, and an evaluation is required for training. Day camp requires dogs to be spayed or neutered with no known aggression or possession issues. The site also asks firmly that first-time visitors book: "DO NOT STOP BY WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT." The facility closes daily from 10-2 and on Sundays.
