About k913 llc

Temperament-first plans, from obedience to protection

k913 professional dog training works to a stated method that begins before any training does: "we evaluate your dog's temperament, as well as your family dynamics, to create a plan to meet your dog training needs." The site restates it as the business goal — to "evaluate the canine's temperament, the family dynamic and create a plan to shape the canine's behavior to match the family's needs" — and sums the philosophy up in three words on the home page: "Clarity, consistency & trust."

Programs

The published services are obedience and advanced obedience, protection training, behavior modification, board & train, private in-home training, and custom pre-trained protection dogs — the last a supply service rather than a training course, and worth clarifying at the enquiry stage. The range means the same business serves both a pet owner wanting reliable manners and a client seeking a finished protection dog.

Background

The home page carries a first-person essay, "Why Dogs Work for Me," bylined Kevin Brathwaite. It recounts his time as a new candidate for the Detroit SWAT team and refers to his earlier service with the K9 Unit, where a founding member of the unit whose personal dog he had trained advised him to "stay humble, stay open, and keep learning." Ask what his role in the business is.
