What they offer

KC Dawgz Dog Training Academy runs a training facility at 10750 El Monte St in Overland Park, one of its academies in the Kansas City metro. Its options include board and train, day training, private training, group classes and puppy classes.

Programs

The obedience board and train runs two or three weeks, with a go-home transition session and follow-up sessions, and board and train dogs can join supervised daycare play groups after an evaluation. Behavior modification board and train programs address reactivity, mild to moderate aggression and mild resource guarding. Day training lets the dog train at the facility during the day and go home at night, in single days or programs of two to six weeks, and the longer tracks include off-leash heel and recall with a remote collar.

How they train

The site describes KC Dawgz as a balanced training facility that teaches owners both positive reinforcement and how to interrupt unwanted behavior, and says owners are included in every step so skills carry over at home.

Good to know

The site says all trainers are AKC certified evaluators. It does not currently offer service dog training.
