What they offer

Simplified K9 is the training business of Caleb Griffith in Leawood. He offers in-home private lessons, lessons at his training studio, several stay-and-train programs and online training, plus boarding cared for by the trainer himself.

Aggression and reactivity

The home page centers on aggression and reactivity. Instead of only stopping barking, lunging or growling, the approach asks why the dog feels the behavior is necessary and works to change that belief. Private lessons cover basic obedience, leash walking, jumping, barking, reactivity and aggression, with ongoing coaching.

Stay and train

Board and train formats include a Daycare & Train option, with drop-off in the morning and pick-up in the evening for three weeks, and a four-week board and train that includes owner lessons during the program. The FAQ describes a board and train day with walks, play, at least three focused training sessions and rest. He trains dogs from about 5 months old with no upper age limit, and offers puppy consultations by phone or in the home for younger pups.

About the trainer

The about page says Caleb has worked with dogs for seven years, completed Ivan Balabanov's TWC trainer's program, and is a GoodPup Certified Trainer through Rover.com. Owners can ask for a tour of the studio.
