Foundation-first training in Tickfaw

La Fundación K-9 Academy is a dog training academy in Tickfaw built around one idea: with a proper obedience foundation, a dog can go in any training direction. Its owner and lead trainer, Richard DeBerry, has facilitated training for groomers, shelter and veterinary staff and animal control officers, and the academy has a dedicated enclosed training field. It describes a gentle, balanced method that balances reward and gentle consequence, aiming for dogs "excited to work for you, rather than scared not to."

Programs and prices

STAR Puppy is a two-week board and train for puppies 14 weeks to under 5 months, covering sit, down, leash walking and socialization, for $750. Basic Obedience is a daily one-on-one boot camp for dogs 5 months and up, with a handler course, equipment, a training certificate and unlimited lifetime support, for $1,800. Advanced Obedience takes the same cues off leash with hand signals and collar conditioning for $2,300. The Behavior Modification and Rehabilitation package costs $2,500, and aggression rehabilitation is priced case by case. The academy also offers personal protection, conformation training, kennel service, raw feeding, a military discount and nationwide transportation.
