About Legend Acres
Legend Acres is the one openly force-free operation on this page, and the only business in the metro publishing a structured service-dog pathway alongside ordinary pet classes. It runs dog and horse programs from a Clarksville base and describes its delivery as in-home, in community settings and online nationwide.
The method it states
The positioning line pairs force-free, fear-free and bond-based with "Science-Backed Training". The site states that "Legend Acres was founded by an experienced dog behavior specialist and Veterinary Technologist" and that its trainers have each been through the same program with their own dog before teaching it. That is a long way from the remote-collar work sold a few miles west in Woodlawn, and it is the practical reason to look at this business rather than one of the board-and-train operations.
Classes
The ladder starts with a Fundamentals class covering basic obedience, leash walking, housebreaking and puppy socialization, open to puppies from twelve weeks in a group and ten weeks privately, finishing at the AKC STAR Puppy test. Intermediate rebuilds the same skills with added time, distance and distraction and finishes at the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. A Trick Dog class works through the four AKC trick titles. Classes are offered as virtual, on-demand, private, group, or a combination of the three.
Behavior work
Reactivity is handled with a named protocol rather than a general promise: "BAT helps animals gain confidence and social skills." There is a $35 public workshop covering the setup, use and log sheet, and "Private behavior modification sessions are controlled sessions to work on leash reactivity to people, dogs, or objects using BAT 2.0 and BAT 3.0". The stated entry point for anything behavioral is a free consultation – the site advertises "Free in-home behavior consults for household behavior challenges" and meet-the-trainer evaluations in a park for service- and therapy-dog goals.
Service dogs
"Legend's Heroes Service Dog Training Program" launched in March 2020 and "consists of service dog training for service dog teams to include PTSD Service Dogs, Psychiatric Service Dogs, and Mobility Support". The published route runs free assessment, fundamentals, intermediate, advanced, urban, doctor's prescription, public access test and task-specific training, delivered through virtual and on-demand courses. In a Fort Campbell town that is a genuine distinction.
One thing to check on the call
The business's address is a suite and box number on Madison Street rather than a training facility, and the company also publishes Arizona programs; the Tennessee pages are the ones that apply here. Worth asking where your own sessions would actually take place.
