About Long Island Dog Trainers – Aint Misbehavin’ Canine Academy
Ain't Misbehavin' Canine Academy provides private, individualized instruction across northeast Queens, Nassau County and western Suffolk. What sets its site apart locally is that the programs are published as fixed lesson counts with the exact command list attached – an owner can compare packages before calling, which is rare in this market.
Five packages, published in full
The Incredible Canine runs eight lessons and teaches nine commands: sit, down, stay in a sit or down until released, come when called, watch, leave-it, place, stay-in and loose leash walking, then moves to outdoor distractions. The Wonder Dog runs seven lessons and seven commands. The Dream Dog runs six lessons and six commands, with the option of proofing in a high-distraction location instead. The Perfect Puppy is seven lessons for puppies five months or younger and covers housebreaking, jumping and play biting alongside the basics. The Well-Mannered Dog Behavior program is three lessons aimed at one specific habit.
Behavior work built into the obedience packages
The larger packages carry an option most fixed-lesson programs do not: the owner can spend the lessons on behavioral problems – fear, lunging at other dogs, door aggression are the site's own examples – or on a mix of behavior work and basic obedience, instead of on commands. That makes an eight-lesson package usable as a behavior program.
The intake
An evaluation comes first. The trainer comes to the home, asks about the dog and the owner's concerns and goals, does a full evaluation and recommends a program. It takes an hour and costs $75.
Who it is for, in the site's own words
The home page lists the situations it hears: a dog that jumps on visitors, one that pulls and lunges and barks at other dogs, a puppy whose nipping and jumping frightens the children, an owner unsure whether their dog is aggressive after a couple of incidents, and a fearful or skittish dog.
Who it’s best for
Best for an owner who wants to know the exact number of lessons and the exact command list before booking.
