About Lucky Dog Training Center
Positive training in Keller
Lucky Dog Training Center is a dog training facility at 5824 Kroger Dr in Keller, with the motto "Positive Training for Positive People." Owner and lead trainer Melinda Meche began training dogs professionally in 2010 after a career as a civil engineer, opened Lucky Dog Training in 2013, and moved to a new facility and rebranded as Lucky Dog Training Center in January 2017. Her team includes trainer Lea Pfeiffer, an AKC Canine Good Citizen and Tricks Evaluator, and lead agility trainer Beth Martin, a three-time USA world team member.
Method
The center trains with positive reinforcement, often called clicker training, and focuses on teaching dogs what to do rather than what not to do. Its approach rests on communication, a strong owner-dog bond, solid foundations and fun.
Classes and sports
Group classes are the most popular option: four- to six-week courses that meet for 50 minutes each week, capped at seven students. Choices include puppy kindergarten, manners classes and specialty classes. Private lessons suit dogs that struggle around other dogs or need help with a specific behavior, including reactive dogs. Dog sports cover agility, nosework, rally, tricks, treibball, puppy sports and conformation, from a first lesson to competition. The center is open 10:30am to 8pm Monday through Thursday and 9am to 2pm on weekends; call 817-741-3647.
