About M Plonsky K9 Behavior Consulting

Who runs it

The site is headed "Dr. P – K9 Consultant" and names its author on the page: "K9 Behavior Consultant Mark Plonsky, Ph.D." He introduces himself in the first person – "I am a retired professor (experimental biopsychology) and a dog trainer."

The approach he describes

"My unique perspective is in applying scientific knowledge to the art of dog training." He writes that he emphasizes "the communication of information between the owner and dog, the bond or relationship that is formed, as well as the use of behaviors the dog likes to perform as a way of motivating appropriate behavior." Rather than summarize his position on corrections, the page points readers to a separate article "for my views regarding the use of reward and punishment."

What is on the site

The page links to sections called Biography, Services Offered, Articles and My Dogs – so alongside the consulting work he publishes his own writing on dog behavior and training. Ask for the specific service list, or see the Services Offered section.
