About Mayday Dog Training
Country training school in Fulshear
Mayday Dog Training is Nick May's training school at 33750 Hannibal Road in historic Fulshear, near Katy just west of Houston. Nick trained his first dog at 14 and is credited with training more than 2,000 dogs. He moved the school from Katy to Fulshear at the beginning of 2018, doubling the training area and adding air-conditioned individual kennel rooms and a fenced yard.
Approach
Mayday describes its philosophy as repetition, positive reinforcement and behavior correction through balanced methods that use all four quadrants of dog training, with a focus on environmental exposure and neutrality. No more than ten dogs are in training at a time, so each gets substantial one-on-one attention, and dogs practice in public settings to work through distractions. After training, owners receive commands and guidelines, and follow-up sessions are strongly encouraged.
Services
Training covers on- and off-leash obedience, house training, crate training, socialization with people and animals, and training for the dog's caregivers. Custom requests include personal protection training, service dog training, scent work and tracking, and specialized tricks.
