About Mission Impossible K9, LLC
Mission Impossible K9 is a working- and sport-dog trainer at a Mount Pleasant address, run by one named trainer. Its own site is one of the most explicit in this metro about what it will and will not take on.
Programs
Board and train programs have a minimum duration of four weeks and include off-leash work. The site separates its tracks by the problem rather than the package: Pet Obedience is for dogs that do not know common commands, lack impulse control or are mildly to moderately overaroused without marked aggression or anxiety, covering sit, down, come, leave it, wait and go to bed plus crate and house training. Behavior Modification II is the serious tier – dogs with a history of anxious or aggressive behavior likely to cause significant harm, separation and isolation anxiety, and resource guarding of owner, space, food or toys. Beyond pet work the site lists competition obedience, agility concepts, tracking and trailing, detection and scent-based alerts, private handling lessons and behavior evaluations and consulting.
The trainer and her dog
The site names Elisha Walker as head trainer and owner and says she came from horses, training under a relative who founded a mounted police services company. Her demonstration and competition dog is a Siberian husky the site describes as a mondioring MR1 titleholder and the only protection-sport husky to earn a full title.
Method, and what it declines
The stated philosophy is balance – building up weaknesses while using strengths – and heavily reward-based work using the dog's natural drives, with a published objection to building food drive through hunger. Boarding dogs are crated indoors in the trainer's own studio living and training space rather than in outdoor kennel runs. The site also states it turns cases down, including board and trains for elderly dogs whose health problems are the likely cause of the behavior, and that it does not take service-dog task training for liability reasons.
Who it’s best for
Best for an owner with a serious behavior case, or a handler wanting sport, detection or tracking work from a competition-titled trainer.
