About My Clever Canine

Relationship-first training on Chicago's north side

My Clever Canine describes itself as "Chicago's Relationship-First Dog Trainer," offering "relationship-focused training built on communication and trust" and stating that it works with everything "from reactive & fearful dogs to everyday obedience — we meet your dog exactly where they are." The site is candid that the business is in transition: a notice announces the closing of the Clark St location and an expansion, under the banner MY CLEVER CANINE 2.0, into private sessions, home visits, group classes, pack walks and park days.

Programs

The services page says every program "includes in-person sessions and training materials tailored to your dog and your goals" and that "pricing is transparent – no surprises." Mind your Manners Boot Camp Board & Train is a 2-3 week immersive program run in the trainer's home, building engagement, foundational obedience, leash walking, and basic manners and impulse control; it is listed from $2,200 for 2 weeks and includes lessons for the owner "so you can confidently replicate any of the skills your dog has learned." The site notes that dogs with high anxiety or specific behavioral issues may need the longer Complex Canine Board & Train, described as rehabilitation "for the Nervous & Grumpy."

Method in their own words

The stated approach "teaches dogs to make healthy decisions, and more importantly, teaches humans how to communicate and respect their dogs as canines," with the goal that "your dog's interaction with the world around them should be calm and confident." The site states that all ages, all breeds and all behaviors are welcome.

Background

The about page names Caz Glancy as the trainer, listing "Professional Trainer · 10+ years · Chicago, IL" and the credentials "IACP Professional Member | Certified CPDT-KA (2021-2024)." It says she thrives working with behaviorally complex dogs and works daily with "every flavor of dog… from hyperactive puppies, to working breeds with bite-histories." The home page displays counters reading 600+ dogs trained and 10+ years in Chicago.
