Our Town Kennels is an all-breed dog training facility at 45 Jaffrey Rd. (Rt 202 South) in Peterborough, offering obedience and behavioral modification, in-kennel boarding, doggy daycare, grooming, fitness and wellbeing, treadmill training and a K9 Shuttle. Owner and trainer Susan LeClair says she has over 20 years experience with working dogs, with certification from Newbury Jr. College and Cornell University and American Red Cross Pet First Aid certification. She is affiliated with Schutzhund USA and the United Doberman Club.

Approach

The kennel describes a combination of professional canine training methods in a positively reinforced environment, with positive motivation, repetition and consistency as the keys to lasting change. Resolving serious behavior or confidence problems and rehabilitating over-aggressive and fearful dogs is its stated specialty. Evaluations decide which course fits, classes are small, and owners learn pack theory and dog psychology.

Training rates

Puppy Pre-school (5 weeks) is $150, Basic and Intermediate Obedience (6 weeks) are $175 each, Advanced Obedience (8 weeks) is $250, and Private Lessons (5 weeks) are $300. In-kennel training is $700, in-home training is $350, evaluations are $75 (aggression evaluations $95), and e-collar privates are $75.
