About Pacific Paws
Training built on nervous-system regulation
Pacific Paws is a dog trainer and pet caretaker serving the greater Eugene community. Lead trainer Sophia holds a Certificate in Dog Training Knowledge (CDTK) and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon, and committed to dog training and pet care full-time after graduating in 2021.
Method
Pacific Paws believes lasting change starts with helping dogs learn to regulate, settle and move through the world calmly. Its style combines a balanced approach with positive reinforcement: rewards plus fair corrections such as verbal cues, spatial pressure or a tap on the e-collar. Tools may include food rewards, place cots, slip leads, e-collars and muzzles when needed.
Programs
New clients complete an application and an in-home consultation. Programs cover leash work, basic obedience (sit, down, place, recall, release and threshold manners), exposure and neutrality training, behavior modification for reactivity, aggression and separation-related behavior, and e-collar training. Programs include an online course, a video library and e-collar equipment. Graduates can join refreshers, boarding, structured daycare and pack hikes.
What owners say
One owner wrote that after a 2-week board and train their dog "is much calmer and his recall is much better."
