Paw & Order in Southwest Florida

Paw & Order Dog Training SWFL is the Fort Myers location of the Paw & Order training company, owned by Shawn Humphreys. Shawn began his career in law enforcement in 2003, worked as a K9 handler, became a master trainer through Vohne Liche Kennels and served as a certifying official for the American Working Dog Association. He has trained with Paw & Order SWFL since 2021 and took over ownership in 2023. Each Paw & Order location is independently owned and operated.

Approach

Training follows the LIMA model (Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive), starting with positive reinforcement such as food, praise and toys and adding consequences only after a dog understands the desired behavior. Trainers are skilled in multiple methods, including e-collars when appropriate, and every program starts with an evaluation.

Programs

The SWFL team offers in-home training, a Stay & Train program with one-on-one sessions and field trips, a hybrid of the two, virtual training and AKC Canine Good Citizen testing. It serves Fort Myers, Naples, Cape Coral, Estero, Lehigh Acres, Bonita Springs, Marco Island and nearby communities.
