Petco Dog Training in Glastonbury runs classes inside the Petco pet store, with trainers who focus on positive reinforcement and practical skills for everyday life. Adult dog training works on reinforcing good habits, leash manners, managing unwanted behaviors and helping dogs adjust to new environments.
Group classes
Six-week group classes are hour-long sessions with up to four other dogs, at $149 per course. Puppy (8 to 16 weeks) covers potty training, socialization and foundational cues; Beginner (16 weeks to 6 months) adds loose-leash walking, leave it, wait and tricks; Fundamentals (6+ months) covers sit, down, come, leave it, wait and curbing jumping and barking; and Advanced (6+ months) works on heel, recall with distractions and polite greetings.
Private lessons
Private sessions run 45 minutes with a certified trainer. New customers can book a $39 Private Lesson 101, and packages cost $249 for 4 sessions or $329 for 6, with flexible scheduling and a customized training plan.
