Petco store 1521 sits at 1121 5th St in Miami Beach and hosts dog training for the South Beach neighborhood. Hour-long group classes run for six weeks with up to four other dogs and their owners.
Courses
Four group levels are offered. Puppy is for dogs 8 to 16 weeks old and covers potty training, socialization and first cues. Beginner, for 16 weeks to 6 months, adds loose-leash walking and "leave it." Fundamentals, for dogs 6 months and up, works on core cues and jumping and barking. Advanced covers heel, recall with distractions and polite greetings. Private 45-minute sessions with a certified trainer come as packages of 4 or 6, and new customers can start with Private Lesson 101 to set goals.
When to go
Training hours are 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Sunday. The South Beach store's phone is (305) 531-1678.
