About Professional Dog Mom

What they offer

Professional Dog Mom is a woman-owned dog care business with a 2,300-square-foot facility on Kingsbury Grade in Stateline, where it offers puppy and basic obedience training alongside day and overnight boarding. One-on-one customized training sessions are held at the Stateline facility or in the home in Reno and Stateline, starting with an initial consultation and assessment.

What sessions cover

Sessions can include potty training, handling, mouthing and teething, house proofing, socialization, leash training and stopping pulling, barking and jumping, and the basic cues of sit, down, stay, come, leave it and drop it. A monthly puppy socialization hour, with a trainer on hand for dog-to-dog introductions, is held for young dogs and requires registration.

How they train

The business follows a Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) approach and does not use prong collars or electronic shock or vibration collars.
