About Quest Companion Dog Training

What they offer

Quest Dog Training offers in-home private training in Albuquerque, the East Mountain area, including Cedar Crest, Tijeras, Edgewood and Moriarty, and Santa Fe, and works with service dog teams from around northern New Mexico. The trainer, Ellen Schmidt, has worked professionally with people and their dogs since 2011.

Programs

Puppy and new-dog packages lay the foundations of basic manners, and beyond-basics training builds on them. Assistance dog training guides owners who are training their own service dog. Therapy dog preparation helps teams get ready for therapy or visiting dog testing and is also good preparation for the Canine Good Citizen test. Problem solving covers barking, jumping, polite in-home behavior, and fear or reactivity on leash with a tailored plan.

Approach

Training uses fun, friendly positive reinforcement and treats the relationship between dog and owner as part of the goal.
