About Rescue Train Repeat
RescueTrainRepeat works out of 147 Thames St in Bushwick and describes itself as a broad-spectrum dog trainer specializing in Jindos and in dogs with trauma and anxiety. The trainer is Andrew Solis, described on the site as a professional dog trainer and behaviorist working in the NYC area.
An unusual specialism
The practice bills itself as a Jindo and village dog rehabilitation specialist. That is a real distinction in Brooklyn: Korean village dogs and Jindos arrive through rescue with a specific set of behaviors, and the site's 2023 seminar in Bundang, South Korea, at Korean K9's facility is evidence of the connection rather than a marketing line. Andrew's own pack, listed on the site, includes a Korean village dog and two Jindo or Jindo-mix rescues.
How the training is framed
One stated principle stands out: imbalances in a dog's health or nutrition can create unwanted behaviors and may need to be addressed before or during training. Another is a group of well-balanced dogs used to teach a client's dog how to play or simply exist alongside others, which is a different tool from a standard socialization class. 'Mindfulness for Dogs' is listed alongside pack walks and group sessions.
Packages and what is in them
Packages are tailored to the individual and the site lists their contents: a home evaluation, leash walking and marker training in one; rehabilitation, confidence building, leash walking and threshold work in another; potty training, leash walking, crate training and separation anxiety in a third. One package is priced at $800; solo sessions are $200 and can be applied to a package afterwards. Every package includes free monthly pack walks and free weekly video chats with the trainer, and there are discounted rates for first responders and educators.
Care alongside training
In-home sitting at $100 a night, board and train at $150 a night and private walks at $30 for thirty minutes are offered, but only to existing training clients – a solo session or package must be purchased first.
