About RUFF Academy

Classes on Erie Avenue in Sheboygan

RUFF Academy holds most of its activities at its main facility at 1229 Erie Ave in Sheboygan. The site lists puppy training, private training, day-train and walk packages, nose work classes and agility classes, all in Sheboygan County, along with AKC Canine Good Citizen and pet therapy certification programs.

Group classes

Group classes run six weeks. New dogs start with Basic Level 1, then move to Intermediate Level 2, and there is a separate small-dog basic obedience class. Trainers watch each dog and owner and recommend tools from there.

Method

The site describes a flexible approach that fits the methods to the owner and the dog and does not rule out any training tool, while saying e-collars are a last resort and come with owner education.

Private and in-home help

For specific problems, a trainer can come to your home after a consult and a behavior intake form.

What to ask

Ask which class level fits your dog, how the day-train packages work, and what the certification programs require.
