About Sit Means Sit Dog Training Long Beach

What they offer

Sit Means Sit Dog Training Long Beach is the local location of a national dog training franchise, based on East 56th Street and serving Long Beach, Lakewood, Signal Hill and nearby Southern California communities. It trains puppies and adult dogs and says its programs address chewing, jumping, poor recall, barking, leash pulling and aggression.

Programs

The Day Train program lets owners drop their dog off for a day of one-on-one obedience work with a staff trainer, followed by a session at pickup to go over what the dog learned. Private lessons are scheduled around the owner's goals and can take place where the owner chooses. Graduates are invited to continuing group classes that drill real-world behaviors until they become routine.

Training approach

The franchise trains with its own remote collar, which it describes as an adjustable tap used to get the dog's attention rather than as a punishment. A free evaluation is the starting point for new clients.
