About Sit Means Sit Dog Training of Connecticut
What they offer
This Sit Means Sit franchise, which calls itself Sit Means Sit Dog Training of Westchester, serves Fairfield County, CT towns including Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk, Darien, Wilton, New Canaan and Westport. Its facility is at 4 Broadway in Valhalla, NY, and the site says all training happens there; it says it has no separate Connecticut location, so Fairfield County owners drive to Valhalla. The Stamford page lists puppy training, obedience, leash pulling, reactive dog training, help with aggressive behavior and owner coaching. Behavior modification also covers anxiety and fear, high-distraction work, off-leash training and socialization, and the business partners with K-9 Caring Angels to train and certify therapy dogs.
How it works
The main offering is the Dream Dog Program. Your dog trains one full day per week at the Valhalla facility for five weeks, and at each evening pickup a trainer coaches you one-on-one. Group class, the third part of the program, is included for the lifetime of the dog and gives real-world distraction practice. Puppies and adult dogs are both accepted. New clients start with a free call with the training advisor and may then book an in-person evaluation.
Who runs it
Owner Neil Cohen moved from a marketing career into professional dog training after first coming to Sit Means Sit as a dog owner. The site says he is a certified evaluator for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test and the K-9 Caring Angels A.C.E. test, and he leads the team with Director of Operations Jamie Carnevale.
