About SkyHi Kennel

Daycare and training on Boulder Avenue

SkyHi Kennel is a dog daycare, boarding, grooming and training business at 1308 Boulder Avenue in Helena, "Giving Dogs a Helena Good Time Since 2016." Its daycare is free-run, with dogs in supervised group play rather than kenneled during the day, and outdoor yards of artificial turf that are deep cleaned daily.

Training

The training team works on leash skills, basic commands, house manners and puppy training. Private lessons come in 30 and 60 minute options, where trainer, owner and dog set goals and build a plan. Day training, in half and full day options, lets trainers work with a dog while the owner is at work. Group classes and one-topic workshops cover puppies and adults, with puppy basic obedience offered almost every month and other topics changing with the season.

The trainer

Head dog trainer Delaney graduated from Carroll College in 2020 with a Bachelor's Degree in Anthrozoology, fostered and trained a dog with the Lewis and Clark Humane Society and describes over 6 years of professional dog experience. Training uses positive reinforcement with treats, toys and praise, and lessons put a big focus on teaching the owners.
