About Smart Dog Pet Training

In-home training in Salem since 2018

Smart Dog Pet Training is a Salem in-home training business that describes itself as 100% force-free and has worked with Salem dog owners since 2018. Every lesson is personally taught by Glen or Kristen, one-on-one in the owner's home and later in real-world public places such as Salem Saturday Market, Salem Center Mall, Riverfront Park and Keizer Station. Programs use positive reinforcement and coach owner and dog together.

Programs and prices

Each program starts with an assessment and a customized plan. Salem and Keizer prices are $375 for the 4-Week Foundation Program (puppies, basic obedience, leash manners, greetings), $445 for the 6-Week Transformation Program, $475 for 6-Week Public Distraction Training held at pet-friendly public locations, and $525 for the 6-Week Behavior Modification Program, which addresses leash reactivity, aggression, fear and anxiety through counter-conditioning and desensitization. An assessment-only appointment is $90. Higher tiers apply to nearby towns, Albany and Corvallis, and Eugene and Portland.
