About SmartyPaws PNW

What they offer

SmartyPaws PNW is a positive reinforcement dog training business in Yakima that says it has served Washington dog-owning families since 2014 with science-based training. Each dog gets an individualized training plan built with the owner, for dogs of all breeds and ages, to teach new skills and change unwanted behaviors.

Lessons and classes

Private lessons are booked by appointment, and group classes meet on Saturday afternoons. The trainers keep up with continuing education in current, research-based methods.

How they train

The business follows a LIMA approach: of all the techniques it knows, it uses the least invasive and minimally aversive one that works for the dog. It is also clear that the trainer starts the process and supports owners along the way, but the owner continues the work at home.
