About Statera Obedience
Balanced training in Somerville
Statera Obedience is a dog training and boarding business serving Somerville and the Bryan-College Station area, owned and run by trainer Kerrigan Harris. Statera is Latin for balance, and balance is the stated goal.
Approach
Statera's programs follow their own methods but are designed around each dog's personality and way of learning, aiming for communication built on trust, respect and obedience. Statera holds that there should be a leader in the pack and that it comes from a solid relationship with the dog.
Programs
The Puppy Kick Starter is a 4-week on-leash program for puppies 3 to 6 months, covering basic commands, leash walking, jumping, biting and chewing, crate and potty training and clicker or marker training. The 7-Day Train & Board starts basic obedience with sit, lay, stay, come, heel, place and kennel, and includes a private session. The 30-Day Train & Board adds off-leash work and real-life distractions, and dogs go home with an e-collar. Private sessions are usually held at the facility, with home visits possible, and Zoom sessions suit owners who live farther away. Daycare Plus adds training sessions to a daycare day. Boarding offers outdoor kennels and play time.
