What they offer

Tandem Dog Training is a Minot training business founded in 2016 that now has three trainers. It focuses on everyday manners problems such as jumping on guests, pulling on the leash, barking and not coming when called, and lessons take place in the client's home or at its facility on 7th Street Southwest.

Programs

The Essentials is typically three lessons and covers loose-leash walking, settling in the house and an off command for jumping. The Homebody is five lessons and adds a reliable come in the house, place on a dog bed and personalized training at home, with training collars, a long line and a treat pouch provided. Go Anywhere is eight lessons aimed at on- and off-leash obedience around big distractions, with up to two field trips to stores or parks. Every program includes access to the group Polishing Classes for practice and refreshers, and lifetime phone and email support.

Approach

The trainers say every dog is different, so they keep several approaches to each behavior and pick what works for the individual dog and family.
