About The Academy of Canine Excellence

What they offer

The Academy of Canine Excellence is a locally owned family business that has trained service and specialty dogs in Albuquerque for over a decade, working from a training center on San Rafael Avenue NE. It specializes in positive reinforcement with a focus on real-life scenarios, and works with dogs of all temperaments, ages and breeds.

Service dogs

The academy trains dogs to help people with disabilities, including diabetic alert, anxiety response, PTSD, mobility, autism, allergy detection and psychiatric service dogs. Owners who already have a dog can apply for a service dog evaluation and a monthly service dog training program that combines private lessons and group classes. Therapy dog applications are also accepted.

Pet dogs

For pet dogs there are training classes at different levels, behavior modification cases, puppy preschool for young puppies and AKC evaluations. Class schedules are given by phone, so call for current classes.
