We adopted our German Shepherd-Poodle puppy from a rescue. While he was already smart and picking up commands quickly, we wanted to get him training to really sharpen his skills. We chose Erin and Chuck at Dog Wizard to board and train, Remi and they were amazing!! Remi learned new commands and they encouraged him to think and enjoy the process, which made a huge difference in his behavior and confidence. Training with them was a positive experience for both Remi and us as owners. We highly recommend Dog Wizard to anyone looking to bring out the best in their dog!

This is our German Shepherd pup Cappuccino! We love him, but we were dealing with him jumping on people when greeting and noticed reactivity.

Erin was our first point of contact, and she was very responsive and thorough in the initial phone screening process.

She helped us every step of the way and she was great to work with.

As Chuck worked with Cappucino we noticed a huge improvement in his behavior. Chuck explained things very well and is very informative.

Overall, we highly recommend The Dog Wizard Dayton for training, especially for high energy dogs such as our German Shepherd!

My rescue pup,Hazel, completed the 10 day training session with Chuck. Since we learned that she was a Great Pyrenees mix it was very important to us that she was going to be an obedient BIG dog. She learned the common commands of sit, stay, down, place, come and how to be trusted off leash, when needed. I love the play approach that Chuck uses, it really helped my dog become confident. To watch the transformation in my dog was great!! Could not be happier with the end result!

Had a great experience with the 2 week boarding and training, then the 2 followup visits.

Very much satisfied with how much they were able to help us accomplish and gave us a great starting point to continue training our dog ourselves at home.

I adopted a two-year-old Yorkie who I named Piper seven months ago. I already have a cat named Onyx and I wanted another dog as my dog had to be put down a year and a half ago. Piper was overly protective of me when I first brought him home. He wouldn't let the cat get near me; he wouldn't play with his toys. He was nervous and he'd follow me all around the house. Leaving the house to run errands he would have a fit and bark constantly. Walking him was a challenge. He would bark at adults, children, motorcycles other dogs, especially the neighbors' dogs right across the street. I thought I'd made a mistake by bringing him into my home, but I wanted to give him a chance. Desperate, I called The Dog Wizard and set up an evaluation with Erin. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. She explained the entire program to me, and I jumped at the opportunity. My dog just completed his training yesterday and I can't that Chuck, his trainer enough. Chuck was very kind and patient. He always spent time with me and explained what he had worked on with Piper and how I could reinforce new behaviors when I got home. He always asked if I had questions and made sure, I understood. I'm happy to say I have a much calmer, and happier dog! I'm so glad I gave him the opportunity to grow. My cat can be in the same room with the dog and myself. He doesn't have separation anxiety anymore and walking him is enjoyable now! He doesn't bark at dogs or people anymore!
