About The K9 Coach

One-on-one training from Nampa

The K9 Coach is Johanna Kratt, a professional dog trainer for over 30 years who serves the greater Treasure Valley from Nampa. All training is one-on-one and customized to each dog. Johanna has titled dogs in AKC obedience, agility and IGP (formerly Schutzhund), holds a master's degree from Boise State University, and is a graduate of "The Principles of Dog Training" at the Michael Ellis School for Professional Dog Trainers. Earlier, she managed and trained at a large kennel and animal training compound that supplied animals for movies and television.

Method

Johanna uses a balanced approach: "reward the good, correct the bad, and create clarity for your dog."

Services

Basic obedience teaches clear rules and reliable commands. Puppy training covers crate training, recall, leash skills, manners and housebreaking. Adult dog training combines obedience with real-life scenarios. Destructive behavior work tackles chewing, digging and barking through behavior modification and structure. For aggression, Johanna evaluates each dog first and, when it is a good fit, builds a plan based on leadership, safety and structure.

What owners say

One owner of a fearful German Shepherd wrote: "He has learned manners and is a much happier, obedient boy."
