About The Martial ARFS Dog Training & Fitness Center

The Martial ARFS is the largest indoor training facility in this directory's Nassau catchment – 4,200 square feet at 251 Voice Road in Carle Place – and it is the only local business whose published menu runs from basic obedience through dock diving and post-surgical conditioning.

Three published program tracks

Obedience and Behavior is the first, described as the facility's most comprehensive track and framed around keeping dogs physically and mentally engaged to improve both health and behavior. Agility and Dog Sports is the second, and the site claims more dog sports than any other Long Island training facility: agility, lure coursing, dock diving and disc dog. Canine Fitness and Conditioning is the third, with treadmills and specific canine exercises for energy expenditure and weight loss.

The pool

Swimming is a service line of its own here rather than a novelty. The site describes an indoor, heated dog swimming facility usable year round – explicitly framed for the winter months when a home pool is closed – and it is what makes the conditioning track possible.

Rehabilitation work

The conditioning programs are pitched at a clinical audience as well as a fitness one: high-intensity, low-impact exercise described for dogs with arthritis, hip dysplasia or luxating patellas, therapeutic fitness for senior dogs, and work for dogs recovering from previous surgery. That is a different customer from the puppy-kindergarten one, and the site sells to both.

What else is on the menu

Puppy kindergarten, family dog interaction and dog reactivity are published alongside the three main tracks, and the site notes that in-home training programs are available as well, so a household is not forced into the building. Enrollment starts with an introductory evaluation.
