About The Real Life Dog

What they offer

The Real Life Dog offers private in-person training sessions and consults in Taos and virtual one-on-one or small group coaching anywhere. Classes and evaluations cover the AKC Canine Good Citizen, Trick Dog and Fit Dog programs, and a short triage call is available for urgent problems.

What they help with

The site lists basic manners, AKC rally and obedience, reactivity, over-excitement, behavior modification for dogs without a bite history, tricks, therapy dog preparation, leash manners, public access manners and fearful dogs. It says it does not take serious aggression cases while the trainer completes a certification with CATCH Canine Trainers Academy.

How they train

Training uses positive reinforcement, rewards and fear-free methods, with enrichment, games, fitness and tricks, and the site says it does not use shock collars, prong collars, choke chains or other aversive tools.
