About Torrey Dog Training

Torrey Dog Training is a one-trainer, come-to-you operation whose site heads its pages "Proudly serving the Kansas City area" and gives one contact point – an email address and an 816 number. There is no facility: "Torrey Dog Training comes to you, providing environment-specific training in your own home."

Who runs it

The site is written in the first person by its owner: "I'm Benjamin Torrey, a KC native with a passion for improving the lives of animals and their owners." It claims "Years of experience." without putting a number on them, and describes the work as "Professional training" and "Behavior modification".

Method as described

The trainer's phrase for his approach is "Positively Effective Training", explained as follows: "With proven methods of behavior modification and positive reinforcement training, your dog will learn that the behavior you want is the behavior she wants." The equipment position is stated plainly – "No shock collars. No choke chains. No worries."

What behavior work looks like here

For behavior cases the site leans on reading the dog: "With field-specific experience as a Canine Behavior Evaluator, I'll let you know what your dog is trying to say and teach you how to listen, understand, communicate, and cooperate." The promise to owners is framed as a relationship rather than a command set: "We'll go beyond the do's and don'ts. You'll build a lasting, mutual respect with your pup."
