About Tree Frog Farm Dog Training

What they offer

Tree Frog Farm is a dog training facility in North Yarmouth that concentrates on building the relationship between owners and their dogs. It offers beginner and advanced training, confidence building, behavior consultations, behavior modification counseling for fear and aggression, and outdoor agility.

Classes

Puppy and family dog classes run for several weeks indoors with small groups, and each starts with a dog-free orientation. A hybrid version adds private lessons to a class. A longer Charm School class follows a first class, and there are a short confidence class and a class that prepares dogs for the Canine Good Citizen test.

Private lessons and behavior help

Private lessons are usually held at the farm, and the trainer can come to the owner's home for a travel fee. They suit variable schedules, reactive dogs, behavior modification and whole-family training, and lessons without the handler are offered for dogs that need extra practice around triggers. Behavior consultations, evaluations, pre-puppy consultations, phone consultations and online sessions are also available.

Method

The farm uses reward-based training with an auditory marker followed by a reward, and puts safety and prevention first.
