About Truckee Meadows Dog Training Club

What they offer

Truckee Meadows Dog Training Club is a not-for-profit AKC training club formed in 1971 that serves the Reno and Sparks area. It offers classes in STAR Puppy, beginning and competition obedience, rally, agility, tricks, scent work, carting and conformation, plus a Therapy Dog course, and it holds testing for STAR Puppy, Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog. New puppies start in STAR Puppy, which covers basic manners and socialization, and Beginning Obedience teaches sit, down, stay and coming when called around other people and dogs.

How they train

The club says it believes in positive training methods that build a strong bond between owner and dog, and that it trains owners to train their own dogs.
