About Twin Tides Kennel

What they offer

Twin Tides Kennel is an Ellsworth facility on Bucksport Road founded by three siblings, all Maine Maritime Academy alumni, who run it with a ship's sense of safety and structure. Alongside daycare, boarding and grooming it has a dedicated trainer who specializes in obedience training and everyday behavior work, and an indoor training area so training continues whatever the weather.

Training programs

Board-and-train programs come in two lengths. The four-week program teaches sit, stay, down, heel on leash, place training, good manners and public access training, all on leash. The six-week program adds recall and heel off leash for complete on- and off-leash obedience. Both end with four one-on-one sessions for the owner. A custom behavior modification program is a fully tailored board-and-train for dogs with specific behavioral challenges, with the length of stay set by the dog's needs.

Private sessions

Hourly one-on-one sessions are held at the facility or in the owner's home, with the travel radius agreed at the consultation. The site describes its methods as positive reinforcement.
