About Urban Mutt Retreat

A dog resort with training in Cypress

Urban Mutt Retreat is a Cypress dog resort offering boarding, daycare, professional training and grooming, built around the idea of "big yards, small packs." Staff study each dog's temperament and play style and match dogs with friends who play the same way. The team is extensively trained in canine behavior, health and care, and Jason Vera serves as resort and daycare manager.

Training and other services

Training options include private lessons, board and train packages and daycare-and-train packages. The resort also runs The Spaw grooming salon, water treadmill services and in-house care, and boarding guests stay in suites with beds, TVs and toys. Owners get regular updates and photos.

What owners say

One client wrote that the staff "worked with him to ensure he was eating and enjoying his food and stay" during his first boarding visit.

What to ask

Ask who leads training, which methods and tools are used, how long board and train packages run and what they cost. Tours can be scheduled.
