About Venture K9

Balanced one-on-one training in Portland

Venture K9 offers individualized one-on-one obedience training on its property in Portland, aimed at committed dog owners. It looks at dog training holistically, teaching owners to communicate effectively, and works without a set syllabus because every dog is different.

Method

Venture K9 describes its approach as balanced training, using whatever tools work best for the dog in front of it, from food and toys to e-collars, prong collars and slip leads, with a balance of yes and no in daily life with a dog.

Programs

One-on-one obedience training covers sit, down, place, recall, a proper heel, manners and behavioral issues. Puppy sessions, for puppies from 10 weeks to 5 months, cover basic obedience, confidence building and leadership. The 1/1 session package is $900 for 6 sessions, before sales tax. Advanced and competition obedience training covers competition heeling and retrieving, and CGC certification is offered. Clients get continual support for the lifetime of the dog.
