About Waldrand Kennel LLC

What it is

Waldrand Kennel LLC in Nekoosa describes itself as "a small scale, passionate kennel dedicated to the preservation of the European German Shepherd Dog and their true working purpose." The training side is stated right next to that: "Beyond the breeding of working dogs, we also strive to help build the best relationship achievable between an owner and their companion. Whether you are looking for a well rounded pet, troubleshooting behavioral issues, or looking for your next partner at work-we will do our best to suit your needs!" The kennel name is explained on the page – "'vom Waldrand': From the Edge of the Woods."

Training

The site's own section is "Training and Boarding" and its banner reads "European Working German Shepherd Dogs and COMPANION DOG TRAINING." Where the kennel is not the right fit, it says it also offers "referrals to other trusted breeders and trainers we are familiar with."

Who runs it

The page introduces the owner as Karie, printing both the name "Karie Klinger" and the heading "Meet the Owner, Karie Curtis." In her own words: "After training my first (2) dogs in 2001 at the age of 9, I knew that it was my calling." She writes that she "truly found my passion in 2012 when given an opportunity to work under the well known Lawrence Filo of Steinig Tal Kennel and Police K9 Academy," and that after "training and certifying many K9s throughout the state of Wisconsin" she took a position as a Correctional Officer with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. The page says she currently works at a veterinary clinic and still uses Filo "as my mentor and confidant in the training and breeding of German Shepherd Dogs."

How to book

This one matters before you drive out: "Our kennel is operated out of our home, so please have respect for our domain. We do not allow drop ins or unscheduled sessions." The site repeats it under availability – "We operate with appointments ONLY. Do not show up unannounced!" – and warns that "Hours may vary day to day, week to week" around a full-time job. A phone number and an appointment request form are published; no price or certification is printed, so this profile states neither.
