About Wayfinder Canine Co

Adventure-based training from Leander

Wayfinder Canine Co. is a dog training business based in Leander that builds the bond between dog and owner through shared exploration. Alongside training, it runs an Adventure Club of curated off-leash hikes for exercise and mental decompression, and every client starts with a free 30-minute phone consultation.

Programs

Day Train is a hybrid of board and train and private lessons: the trainer picks up the dog and works around the owner's home and neighborhood, the trainer's home, parks or stores, then teaches the owner when to reward and correct. Jump Start ($1,200) covers loose-leash walking, indoor recall, impulse control and a distraction-proofed stay. Attention and Engagement ($1,600) targets leash reactivity with intermediate obedience and confidence building. Off-Leash ($2,200) builds reliability for hiking and camping, using the e-collar as the communication tool. A five-lesson private package is $550, and there is a puppy intro class and a group class.

The trainer

Trainer Gerry began training dogs in 2017 and attended Starmark Academy. Wayfinder describes balanced training methods and experience with obedience, off-leash work, separation anxiety, reactivity and aggression, agility, tricks and scent work.
