About Wildcard Canine

Wildcard Canine sits at 6706 US 127 North in Crossville and runs training alongside boarding, daycare and a rentable pool. Its stated purpose is "create bonded teams who reach their full potential, offer a variety of affordable training options, provide safe boarding, and promote working and sport dogs."

The owner's credentials

This is the most substantiated credential list of any trainer in the metro, and it is dated. The about page lists "American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen evaluator since 2016", "American Kennel Club Trick dog evaluator since 2017", professional membership of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers "since 2015", and pet CPR and first aid certification "since 2018". Continuing education is itemized, including a 2019 decoy school audit and a protection-sports handler workshop the same year.

Who runs it

Anna Ayres is listed as "Owner & Main Trainer". The site says "Anna began her career rural Vermont with pets in 2012." and that "In 2014 she relocated to Crossville Tennessee in hopes of assisting with keeping pets in their homes and out of animal shelters and rescue." Her current focus is described as "working and sport dogs along with behavioral modification", and she is listed as having titled or helped title dogs in "dock diving, obedience, rally, tricks, frisbee, therapy dog preparation, and the canine good citizen program." A second trainer, Karrie Stevens, is listed with a profile marked "** CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION **".

Programs and prices

The Training and Boarding pages in the site navigation both return a 404 page-not-found error. So call for the training programs, formats and prices. What the home page does commit to is general: "Let us help you teach your dog how to become a fun, safe, and enjoyable member of the community."

Local recognition

Two local markers are claimed: "Voted 2017 “Best Dog Trainer” in Crossville" and a "2018 Nominee for Greatmats dog trainer of the year".
