Overview
About Off Leash K9 Training, Cookeville
Off Leash K9 Training's Cookeville location publishes more programs, with more prices attached, than any other trainer in this metro. It is a franchise location of a national brand, and the pricing page reads like a catalog.
Obedience and board and train
The spine of the offer is a four-week basic obedience course built on seven commands, a four-week advanced course that adds distance work and handler-chosen commands, and the two combined as an eight-week program. Above those sits a two-week board and train covering "2 Weeks of Immersive Training" and "Handling distractions in multiple places", after which the owner gets a two-hour handover session. In-home versions of both obedience tiers are sold, geographically bounded: "Must be located within 20 miles of Cookeville."
Aggression and bite cases
This is the clearest published aggression offer in the metro. A seven-lesson package "Aids in stabilization and management of aggressive dogs for re-entry into the family unit." and "Helps the family with control of the dog at home and in public." A separate two-week residential option is scoped explicitly: "This Program is for human aggression cases and bite cases with dogs. Evaluation required."
Service, therapy and scent work
They publish a psychiatric and PTSD response service-dog course, a mobility support service course, and a therapy dog or ESA course, all priced in ranges rather than flat. Scent work runs as a starter package, a proficient package and a two-week residential – the starter is "5 Lessons of 30 minutes – providing you and your dog a basic understanding of how Scent Work works."
Puppies
Puppy work is separated from obedience by age, and they say why: basic obedience "starts at 5 months due to your dog's growth and socialization window". Under that, an AKC S.T.A.R. puppy package of six private half-hour classes ends with an "AKC S.T.A.R. Certificate issued upon completion", and there are one- and two-week puppy board and trains for pups from eight weeks.
Two things to note
Several packages are marked "* Includes e-collar and leash", so the equipment is part of the program rather than optional – worth knowing if you have a view on tools. And several obedience and board-and-train packages advertise a lifetime support guarantee on the commands they cover.
Who it’s best for
Best for an owner who wants an off-the-shelf priced program, particularly for aggression, service-dog or scent work.
