About wrkndog

wrkndog trains from 165 Keyland Court in Bohemia and publishes that address on every page. The business has been working dogs 'on Long Island in both Suffolk County and Nassau County, New York for over 25 years', and the owner-founder, Vincent, teaches every class personally – a point the site makes twice.

Method

The method is stated as a rejection of the default: 'Commands with Communication. No food reward bribery treat training, you are the reward and value.' What replaces it is 'correct communication, leash technique, trust, teamwork, consistency and simplicity'. Whatever an owner's view of that debate, the value of publishing it is that nobody arrives at the first session expecting a clicker and a treat pouch. The stated scope is 'All breeds, all issues, all ages.'

Programs

Three programs are published, all sold as fixed blocks of hour-long sessions rather than open-ended packages. Puppy is for dogs under five months and runs five 60-minute sessions – two private and three group – covering obedience and leash technique. Obedience is for dogs over five months and runs six 60-minute sessions. S.O.S., or Specialized Obedience Sessions, is five 60-minute private sessions 'for reactive and aggressive behaviors', which is the clearest signal on the site of the harder end of the caseload. Each is described as 'structured to achieve your goals'.

Getting started

The entry point is a free evaluation, booked through the contact form or by phone. Sign-up and payment run through the site. For an owner in the Islip and Bohemia area who wants a defined number of sessions with a fixed endpoint, taught by the person who owns the business, the shape here is unusually legible: the number of hours, who teaches them, and what is and is not used are all published before the first call.
