About Yuppie Puppie Play Care

Color-coded training packages inside a Roselle care facility

Yuppie Puppie runs daycare, boarding, grooming and training at 841 N Nerge Rd in Roselle. The about page describes it as "an independently owned and operated establishment" taking "great pride in our extensive experience of over a decade in the fields of professional grooming, pet care, and positive reinforcement behavior." Beth is listed first on the team page as Owner/Groomer, alongside bathers, groomers and daycare and boarding staff.

The training packages

Training is sold as three named packages. The White Training Package is a one-day refresher — "designed to reignite your dog's brilliance" — scheduled Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM and priced at $45 for the day, including tips for carrying the commands into home routines. The Purple Training Package is described as a 3-4 week course on fundamentals such as sit, stay and wait; it starts with a free training evaluation and includes 3 in-home private lessons so owners can take the work over. The Black Training Package is a 6-8 week program covering basic and advanced commands, also starting with a free evaluation and including 4 private in-home lessons after the facility-based phase. Both the Purple and Black packages run Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and both are priced after the evaluation rather than listed — "Pricing is based on your dog's individual evaluation."

Method

The site is direct about approach: "Gone are the days of outdated and ineffective training methods. Our approach at Yuppie Puppie revolves around the principle of positive reinforcement." It also offers education for owners on pet care, nutrition and basic training. One caution for anyone comparing: the Purple package is introduced as a 3-4 week course but its detail section refers to a 6-8 week tailored program, so confirm the length when booking.
